Air Quality Tests

Air Quality Tests

Regular measurement of indoor air quality in workplaces and regulation of ambient air prevent employees from experiencing difficulties due to various diseases. In this way, employee satisfaction and work efficiency are increased with indoor air quality and comfort level measurements.

Air quality tests are measurements carried out in ambient air to determine concentrations of air pollutants in confined spaces. One of the main components in the air is oxygen. Oxygen, which is necessary for people to live, is a substance without smell, color and taste. If the amount of oxygen in the air decreases, breathing problems occur.

There are several events that cause the oxygen value in the air to drop. For example, in the mines, by the oxidation of coal or mine, the introduction of other gases into the environment, the combustion of oxygen in fires reduces the amount of oxygen in the air. In the United States, the National Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (NIOSH) has made a classification of atmospheric hazards in enclosed spaces based on the amount of oxygen in the air, the flammability of gases and vapors, and the concentration of toxic substances. Namely,

  • Class A is a serious life threat. The oxygen level is below 16 percent or above 25 percent.
  • Class B is dangerous but no serious life hazard. Oxygen level is between 16,1 and 19,4 percent.
  • Class C is dangerous. Oxygen level is between 19,5 and 21,4 percent.

This table is based on the measurements performed by test and inspection institutions.

During the environmental test studies, the current legal regulations and the relevant standards published by many domestic and foreign organizations are taken into consideration. In line with the needs of the enterprises, our company also performs air quality tests within the framework of environmental tests.

In the meantime, our organization, in accordance with the TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Experiment and Calibration Laboratories standard, UAF From the Accreditation Agency has been accredited and serves within this framework.
