Grounding Tests

Grounding Tests

In order to ensure the safety of life and property and to protect the loads connected to the electricity network from the unexpected effects of the electrical current, the connection of conductive parts of the devices or systems operating with electricity to earth is called grounding.

Grounding is used to protect human life from a dangerous touch stress due to any faults in devices or systems, such as problems and deterioration in insulation. In addition, the grounding process is carried out to ensure the correct operation of the electrical network or electrical installation.

An electric shock event is the transfer of leakage currents to the human body due to a problem in the installation. In this case, the magnitude of the current flowing through the human body depends on the point of contact, the body resistance and the frequency of the current.

Grounding resistance, or resistance of the ground, is the reaction of the ground to electrical current. In fact, the earth is a weak conductor, but if the area for the current is large enough, the resistance drops and the earth becomes a good conductor. Therefore, there is resistance between the earth and the conductors in the system.

Soil resistance tester called torpak megeri is used to measure soil resistance.

Grounding measurements are very important for workplaces. These measurements are carried out to determine whether there is a reverse conductivity in the location of the electrical installation. If there is a leak in the areas where the power lines pass, this creates a risk for people. In order to avoid any problems, the places where the power lines cross should be checked at regular intervals.

The current legal regulations and the relevant standards published by many domestic and foreign organizations are taken into consideration during the electrical test studies. In line with the needs of enterprises, our company conducts earthing tests within the framework of electrical tests.

In the meantime, our organization, in accordance with the TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Experiment and Calibration Laboratories standard, UAF From the Accreditation Agency has been accredited and serves within this framework.
