Fertilizer Tests

Fertilizer Tests

Healthy development of plants depends on proper nutrition. The nutrients that the plants need are taken from the soil with their roots. If the soil does not have enough nutritional properties, additional plant nutrients must be mixed into the soil. However, if these substances are used together and correctly with knowledge and technology, the expected yield can be achieved. Otherwise, irreversible problems begin.

A fertilizer is a substance that is mixed into the soil to provide the chemical components necessary for plant nutrition. Fertilizers include foods that help plant growth. Therefore, the types of fertilizer to be used, minerals and other chemicals in the content of the fertilizer are very important. Essential elements for the development of plants are phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, magnesium, manganese, calcium, iron, sulfur, copper and zinc. The most important ones are phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium.

Straw, plant debris and animal droppings are organic fertilizers that have already been used for thousands of years. In the past, lime materials were used in agricultural activities to reduce the acidity of the soil and to add calcium to the soil. The first chemical fertilizer is sodium nitrate.

Today, organic fertilizers and commercial fertilizers are obtained by different methods. Commercial fertilizers mainly contain phosphorus, nitrogen and potassium, which are important for plant nutrition. Lack of nitrogen makes the plant yellow and prevents its development. Lack of phosphorus prevents the growth of roots and delays the ripening of the plant. Potassium deficiency weakens the stems of the plant and prevents the formation of fruit.

Within the scope of fertilizer tests, some analyzes such as free acidity determination, nitrogen determination, water soluble potassium determination and total phosphorus determination are carried out.

The current legal regulations and standards published by many domestic and foreign organizations are taken into consideration in the food testing studies. In accordance with the needs of the enterprises, our company also conducts fertilizer tests within the framework of food tests.

In the meantime, our organization, in accordance with the TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Experiment and Calibration Laboratories standard, UAF From the Accreditation Agency has been accredited and serves within this framework.
