The SASO conformity assessment (CoC) studies are carried out by the Certification Body body or the accredited laboratories under its legal responsibility. These studies are carried out in three steps and especially focus on health and safety tests. These three steps are: preliminary examination, technical examination and physical examination.

The preliminary examination is carried out on the documents submitted by the company that will send goods and goods to Saudi Arabia. In this step, standards and technical regulations related to goods and products are determined and actions to be taken are planned. First of all it is investigated whether there is a SASO standard for the products. If there is no SASO standard, the international standards and the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) standards are taken as the basis.

The second step is the technical review. In this step, a technical examination is carried out to determine whether the goods and products meet the requirements of the relevant SASO standard. If there is a TSE certificate related to the product and the standard in which this document is obtained complies with the relevant SASO standard, then the physical examination process, which is the next step, is proceeded. However, if the standard in which the TSE certificate is obtained does not comply with any SASO standard, an accredited test report must be obtained for the missing items of the standard. On the other hand, if neither SASO standard nor national or international standards are available for the products to be sent, an accredited test report must be obtained.

Finally the third step is physical examination. In this step, a body assigned by Certification Body (CB) performs inspection, inspection and inspection of quantity, marking, labeling and packaging in the production area or in the stock area of ​​the products prior to shipment.

Some of the accredited organizations in our country make mutual agreements with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and enable the accredited laboratories under legal responsibility to be appointed by SASO as approved laboratories under the Saudi standards. In this way, for example, it carries out the testing and inspection activities of washing machines, air-conditioners, coolers, electric motors and lighting products to be sent to Saudi Arabia on the one hand and energy performance and energy labeling works on the other. SASO certificate is issued to the products that pass the test inspection and evaluation processes and according to the SASO energy efficiency standards, and compulsory energy labeling is carried out. Exporters can easily complete their export transactions without any difficulties in customs when they receive this document.

The validity of the documents and reports to be prepared by the accredited organizations should be signed with the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the certificate of conformity and the recognition of the quality brands. However, in this case, the Certificate of Conformity, CoC and the SASO Certificate become meaningful.

SASO has adopted and implemented ISO 9000 standard in its internal organization. It acts as an accreditation body and has mainly adopted the following standards:
