Shoe Tests

Shoe Tests

As in every sector, the first principle of making quality shoes is to use quality materials. The quality of the shoes is produced and controlled in accordance with domestic and foreign standards to be accepted by everyone without leaving any chance, thus ensuring a high chance of competition not only in terms of domestic markets but also in foreign markets.

The first material that comes to mind among natural base materials is leathery. Leather, bovine leather is obtained by processing by applying vegetable tanning methods. In the past, the soles of all shoes were leathery. However, especially from 1950, synthetic products have been used as base materials. Moreover, synthetic bases have been preferred since they are more cost-effective.

Another natural base material is natural rubber. The sap of a tropical tree is used in rubber production. This sap is coagulated and a raw material called latex is obtained.

Today, mainly PVC soles, polyurethane soles, thermoplastic soles, EVA soles, artificial rubber soles and similar materials are used.

The main tests performed by the test and inspection organizations within the scope of shoe tests are as follows:

  • Tensile strength and percentage elongation of base materials (TS EN ISO 12803 standard)
  • Slip resistance on floors (TS EN ISO 13287 standard)
  • Flexural strength of soles (TS EN ISO 17707 standard)
  • Abrasion resistance of base materials (TS EN 12770 standard)
  • Determination of abrasion resistance of leather against water (TS EN ISO 5404 standard)
  • Waterproof shoes (SATRA TM 230 standard)
  • Shoe sole strength determination (TS EN ISO 20344 standard)

The current legal regulations and standards published by many national and international organizations are taken into consideration in textile analysis studies. In line with the needs of enterprises, our company also conducts shoe tests within the framework of textile analyzes.

In the meantime, our organization, in accordance with the TS EN ISO / IEC 17025 General Conditions for the Competence of Experiment and Calibration Laboratories standard. UAF From the Accreditation Agency has been accredited and serves within this framework.
