While the world population has increased fourfold, the damage to the environment has increased exponentially geometrically in the same period. Unfortunately, due to the two major world wars in the twentieth century and the economic and political crises in the last century, environmental problems and environmental security have not been given much attention.

Today, especially the efforts of the United Nations, followed by country administrations and non-governmental organizations have increased the sensitivity towards the environment. The urgent measures to be taken for environmental safety have also been found in legal regulations.

All countries are now implementing an effective environmental management system to combat environmental problems and leave a more livable world for future generations. Preventing irresponsible and unconscious destruction of nature and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard has been developed by International Standards Organization in order to protect the environment. This standard aims to reduce the use of natural resources such as water, air and soil and to prevent damages to natural resources. In addition, this standard requires that environmental problems be solved and legal regulations regarding environmental conditions are complied with. In line with these regulations, the activities of all enterprises engaged in production are monitored in terms of their environmental performance.

During the conformity test studies, current legal regulations and related standards published by many domestic and foreign organizations are taken into consideration.
