Tensile Break Test

Tensile Break Test

A number of standards have been published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) under the heading ISO 527 Plastics - Determination of tensile properties for bulk materials, plastic films and sheets and reinforced composites, as well as for filled and unfilled molding, extrusion and long fibers. In our country, TSE has published this series of standards under the same title as follows:

  • TS EN ISO 527-1 ... Section 1: General principles
  • TS EN ISO 527-2 ... Section 2: Test requirements for molding and extrusion plastics
  • TS EN ISO 527-3 ... Part 3: Test requirements for films and sheets
  • TS EN ISO 527-4 ... Part 4: Isotropic and orthotropic fiber-reinforced composites
  • TS EN ISO 527-5 ... Part 5: Test requirements for one-way fiber-reinforced plastic composites

This set of standards describes the general principles for determining the tensile, tensile and tensile properties of plastics and plastic composites under defined conditions and different test methods to suit different types of materials. In these tests, tensile behavior, tensile strength and tensile breaking characteristics of test specimens are determined.

In addition to this standard, the following standards are also complied with in the tensile and rupture tests of plastic materials:

  • TS EN ISO 20753 Plastics - Test specimens)
  • TS EN ISO 291 Plastics - Standard atmospheric conditions for conditioning and testing
  • TS ISO 2602 Statistical interpretation of experimental results - Average calculation - Confidence interval

Mechanical properties of other industrial materials exposed to different strain rates other than plastics are of great interest among the engineers. Properties such as tensile and tensile strength are tested in mechanical and research laboratories. In order to have an accurate design, it is very important to perform tensile and tear tests at wide tensile ratios and temperature ranges.

The mechanical behavior of the materials varies considerably under dynamic and static loading conditions. In general, the increased deformation rate leads to higher material forces. Furthermore, the increase in the tensile ratio increases both the tensile and tensile and tensile strength.

In general, material tests are performed to determine the behavior of materials under different loads. In particular, the relationship between the forces acting on the material and the resulting deformation and the boundary stresses that cause the deterioration of the components are taken into account. Test results are used for material development, component design and quality assurance. Tests such as tensile, rupture, compression, bending and torsion are performed to determine the flexibility and plasticity properties of the materials. Among these, tensile and shear tests are the most important test methods. During these tests, a relatively low, increasing force in the longitudinal direction is uniformly applied to a standard sample having a cross-section. A uniaxial stress state prevails in the sample until contraction begins.

The most natural test of the mechanical properties of a material is the tensile test. As the load gradually increases, the axial deflection of the material will increase. Finally, the test sample breaks and is often divided into two or more parts. The relationship between the force applied to the material and the breaking point of the material is influenced by the structure of the material.

In the tensile shear tests of metallic materials made to advanced laboratories, the following standard is taken into consideration: TS EN ISO 204 Metallic materials - Stress uniaxial creep test - Test method.

EUROLAB also offers tensile and tensile testing services for a wide range of laboratory services. Thanks to these tests, enterprises receive more efficient, high performance and quality testing services and provide safe, fast and uninterrupted service to their customers.

In addition to tensile and tensile testing services provided within the scope of laboratory services, EUROLAB also provides other testing services.
