Fastness Tests

Fastness Tests

Fastness tests are not performed in a single area. Fastness refers to the strength of the fabric to withstand certain conditions such as sweating, washing and sunlight in daily life. For example, when the use fastness of the fabric is mentioned, it is meant how long the fabric is resistant to the external effects to which it will be exposed. In addition, the appearance of the fabric, aesthetic stance, appreciation of the concepts such as appeal to the sale of textile products made with this fabric plays an important role. As a result, fastness tests are very important in terms of showing quality in textile products.

Below is a brief description of the various fastness tests:

  • The washing fastness test is carried out to determine how much color loss the fabrics show after washing and how much color they give to other fabrics. In this respect, TS EN ISO 105-C06 Textile - Color fastness tests - Section C06: The color fastness standard against domestic and commercial washing is complied with.

Light fastness, fastness of sea water, fastness of pool water, dry cleaning fastness, phenolic yellowing and Other fastness tests such as compressive strength are also performed. During these tests, gray scale and blue scale are generally used as assessment tools.
